WATER BIKES
Our 4 aqua trikes are suited for up to 3 people - 2 adults and 1 child, or 1 adult and 2 children. These tractor like bikes are fun and easy to operate while you pedal your way around the beautiful Wharewaka, Lake Taupō.
They are a great activity for all ages and makes for some pretty cool stories and photo ops! Round your friends up, hire two and have races on the water!
Although there is no age limit for kids, to go without an adult you must be 10 years old. We supply lifejackets for all ages, from baby to adult.
Max weight 200kg. Please note - prices are per boat, not per person.

The first and only of their kind in New Zealand, our brand new pedal boats, equipped with slides for the kids (or without) are just epic!
We have 3 of these awesome boats, one with a 'big slide' you'll fly down the corner slide into the water with a splash, better suited for kids a little older (or brave little ones), one with a 'small slide', a little more mellow down the back of the boat, landing in the water right next to the ladder, this one is suitable for younger kids as well. The last boat is perfect for those who want to enjoy the lake without the slides, and has a sun shade on the top... along with a platform - perfect for manus!
All ages welcome, lifejackets provided for everyone. Kids, you must take an adult if you're under 12.
The weight limit is 365kg per boat (up to 5 people), and 100kg for the slide.

SUP - STAND UP PADDLE BOARD
$25 for 1 hour
We have 7 SUP's which are suitable for children and adults. They are easy to operate and a fun way to explore the Lake. Easy for beginners, although you may get wet! They are a great activity for all ages and makes for some pretty cool stories and photo ops! Paddle about, or just relax on the water.
We supply life jackets of all sizes, and we can teach you how to use them if you would like us to.

KAYAKS
$15 - $25 for 1 hour
Our double kayak is perfect for a couple, and can fit up to 3 people ( 2 adults and a child)
Our double kayak is $25 for 60 minutes.
PLEASE NOTE - YOU CANNOT GO TO THE MAORI CARVINGS ON OUR KAYAKS. WE ARE TOO FAR AWAY.
We have two of the CUTEST kids kayaks, perfect for the little ones who want to get out on the water by themselves. Suitable for kids up to 10 years with a maximum weight of 50kg, lifejackets included. Our kids kayaks are $15 each for 60 minutes.
It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an experienced kayaker, we will give you the training you need to get you out on the water.
Lifejackets are included in the rental price. Please note, price is per kayak, not per person.
OPENING HOURS & LOCATION
We are open 7 days a week from November to mid April, weather dependant. Our opening hours are 10:30am - 5:00pm In November, March and April and 9:30am - 7:00pm December, January, February. We are available during the week for group bookings, to enquire, please call 0211477894. Welcome to Taupō Pedal Boats. Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Taupō, we are a water activity rental business, family owned and operated, established in February 2021.
We are proud to have New Zealand's only slide pedal boats, 4 water bikes, stand up paddle boards and kayaks for rent, a totally unique way to see Lake Taupō. The water is pristine, the views are gorgeous, and your family will love you for bringing them out to visit us! We have no age restrictions, everyone is welcome.
You can find us on Wharewaka Road, a 5 minute drive from the town centre, heading south toward the airport. Bring a picnic and park up for the afternoon. We are open 7 days a week, weather dependant. For closures, please check Facebook on the day.
